I HAVE A 1973 GOLD BOX SET OF 4, ONE CORNER IS DAMAGED ON THE OUTSIDE BUT NONE OF THE BOOKS HAS BEEN CRACKED, (OPENED AND READ) BALLANTINE BOOKS, BASICALLY IM CLUELESS AS TO WHAT I HAVE IF THEYRE COLLECTABLE, WORTH ANYTHING, ETC. IVE BEEN OFFERED MONEY, ETC AND DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO. ANY ADVICE?

Depends what the "etc" is. If the "etc" is a small punch on the nose, I'd say decline as you can do better. However, if the "etc" is either an aged cheese or a family sized bag of Malteasers, I would definitely give that serious consideration.
