in 1983 I bought a book @ the oxford bookstore, it is T L O R de luxe edition, hardcover pub. by george allen & unwin. The cover design is the same as the JRR drew for the original RoTK it is embossed gold spine is rised and embossed, the paper it is printed on is Very fine with like a blue green paint splatter design on the tops. It has never been read it is still in the original box with tissue paper. I need to move this asap fore I am in dire straights.

"Does anyone sign on to this thing? my my my you can get more action at the floating log on a monday afternoon!!!!"
Sorry that we did not give you an instant answer to your question, instead of complaining you could have looked for the value yourself, the two main marketplaces for Tolkien books are Ebay and Abebooks Abebooks has the 1982 book for about £80, but this the top end of the market because of Abebooks fees, so you may get up to £50 for selling the book.
