Barliman Butterbur’s Big Book of Delvings

"The delving is a hobbit limerick, and must both conform to the metric and rhyming pattern of the limerick, and to suitable hobbit subject matter and outlook on life. Included in this collection are the proceedings of the several delvings contests held by the ATS in former years. Of note are delvings defective in content and in metre, Elvish delvings, an Entish delving, and seven smials (epic delvings) including the legendary 15 stanza “Ainulindelving”." (From an American Tolkien Society catalog)
