Tolkien Works available as e-books (Finally!)
HarperCollins has secured worldwide rights to release Tolkien's major works as electronic texts (eBooks).
The books are available through Fictionwise (an eBook specialty retailer) in multiple formats and directly from Amazon for the Kindle. All of the eBooks have Digital Rights Managment (DRM) associated with them, so they have limitations on what devices you can download them to, how many pages you can print, etc. All in all, though, this is a welcome way to have access to the books! (As Aelfwine mentioned, now you can legally search the text!)

I think that is so awesome that Tolkien's works are finally available as e-books. It makes such a difference when you add technology into the equation. I was also really excited to find his books in audio book format recently at http://www.audiobooks.net - it's great to be able to listen to my favorites as well as read them!
