I have pleasure in offering for sale this set of three books & original slipcase by J.R.R Tolkien - The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers & The Return of the King.

The Fellowship of the Ring – Twelfth 1962/clipped Twelfth wrapper. Map present, name inscription on front blank page, minor creasing on forward page and odd handling marks. 

Some slight loss to wrapper edges and spine bottom. Handling marks, usual faded spine and some minor closed tears. Now housed in removeable protective wrapper. 

 The Two Towers  -Ninth 1962/clipped Ninth wrapper. Map present, name inscription on front blank page, odd handling marks. 

Fractional loss to wrapper corners and some marks and usual faded spine. Now housed in removeable protective wrapper. 

The Return of King – Ninth 1962/clipped Ninth wrapper. Map present, name inscription on front blank page, odd handling marks. 

Fractional loss to wrapper corners and some marks and usual faded spine. Now housed in removeable protective wrapper. 

Slipcase – Edges show signs of splitting rubbing and shelf wear/marks evident as expected.

So overall a very nice early set and complete as originally purchased. A chance to pick up a rare slip-cased set.
