It had already been listed at £699; no bidders. This is it re-listed. One bidder this time though...

Don't think so. My Amazon order had...

Delivery estimate: June 26, 2008 - July 17, 2008
Shipping estimate for these items: June 2, 2008

It you buy directly from WVUPress (if I recall) it usually takes about 4-6 wks to arrive in UK. So, I was expecting mine late June, early July (or now that I look at the Amazon estimate even mid-to-late July perhaps!)

http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/tol/arts_and_entertainment/film/article3999008.ece

(I know this was on TolkienLibrary...but thought I'd keep it going...)

Poor old Christopher 'is said' to say quite alot, without ever being directly quoted (on the internet). "One last crusade" he said to someone, who said to this guy, who told us...

Add to that (although all very interesting) some interviews from nearly two decades ago (pre-film), and soon Christopher will actually be in California to speak to the judge in person!

I have to admit I didn't realise that the films were going to be planned quite as they seem to be (I'm sure I read it, just mabey didn't quite take it in!). The second film (in terms of content) sounds like it will be on real (legally) shakey ground should they choose to proceed. What happens between The Hobbit and LotRs is surely principally covered in UT? Other than the two books themselves (and the features within: names, characters etc), the LotRs appendices is the film makers only real hold on anything else Tolkien...

Think I would still have to go and see them if they get made though!

When the second edition Bibliography does appear, it will have a lot of rewriting as well as correction, as I know much more now about Tolkien's publishing history than I did before 1993; and of course the book will be a great deal longer, as so much more has been published.

-Wayne Hammond

Hopefully loads of detailed info. from HC only you guys have been privy to? Excited already...

That aside, welcome to TolkienGuide Findegil!

Okay; thanks for that Trotter...

Various comments Hammond has made on a possible '2nd edition' of Bibliography, suggest this is still a good bit off; because of seperate ongoing commitments himself and Christina have with HC (and of course health.) I guess we'll probably see the site updated before any updated bibliography. Simple typographical errors (rather than errors of content) could be corrected in later printings, but so far have not.

I'm sure Hammond just wants to make any second edition truly updated, and not just corrected and updated half-heartedly.

Thanks for that Trotter!
Just curious in case I'd missed something. I suppose the site isn't that old... (wonder if we'll ever see it!)

At http://mysite.verizon.net/wghammond/addenda.html...

...did anyone ever copy the material within the J.R.R. Tolkien: A Descriptive Bibliography link, before it became unavailable? (or remember if it ever was available?) [Always been curious as to whether anyone cut and pasted it into a word file etc.]
