If I might be permitted an off-topic post - I gather from friends and family in Christchurch that there has been a major earthquake in New Zealand. Stu, I know you live some way from the epicentre, but I hope that you and yours are all safe.

"Flog It" on BBC2 today featured a former member of the Lancashire Fusiliers, who was selling a collection of swagger sticks, including several from that regiment. Tolkien wasn't mentioned, but people who can might still like to catch it on iPlayer.

My copy came from Amazon.co.uk yesterday - well enough packaged, and in good condition. I am enjoying reading it.

A minor point on the text - in the last paragraph on page 53, an open quote mark was omitted, as it was in the original.
