Well, what a relief! luckily i still had my Irish credit card, so was able to purchase 2 copies for delivery to my family in Southern Ireland.
But the whole thing is a mess, I cant understand why they would not be able to deliver outside of the British Isles, its unfair to genuine collectors outside of this region.

Yes, that is surprising and very disappointing.
Wonder what led to that decision ?

If the Super Deluxe will not be available through Amazon, how do you think they will be sold? direct from Harper Collins? Or do some selected bookstores also get them?

does anyone know just how many UK De luxes had book plates in them? was the 50 split equally among the Trade edition and the Deluxe?
or was there 50 of each? (or 200 as Trotter mentions)?

thats a pity about no illustrated version of Unfinished Tales mentioned in the David Brawn interview.,
maybe you could suggest to him an un-illustrated Deluxe version of Unfinished Tales, similar to the black Deluxe Silmarillion, HoME and LotR series.
also it would be interesting to know if they will ever publish Tolkien's translation of Beowulf.
and can we expect any other previously unpublished Tolkien works in the near future?
