I still intend to go to Moreton this year, but have to find out if I can get some accomodation pretty quickly now ...

Oo, That Awful Mr. Wilson

Well, I didn’t think of myself as a collector for a long time. I was just interested in reading everything Tolkien wrote I could lay my hands on, and useful books about his writings, with emphasis on all things "Middle-earth related". From studying Arda, it went to studying developments of the texts, and look at my bookshelves now ...

I think Mr. Menon mistakes the excesses for the essentials of collecting.

I have some extra too - I heard from some of the regulars that they didn't want to "brag" (my word) and so did not write in.
Well, eh, Jeremy, I actually like to talk about my life as a Tolkien-geek (eh ... appreciator), but I often don’t find the time, and that’s the only reason I haven’t posted in this topic ... I also like tea.

On afterthought that could also be. One for Maggie Burns to answer.

That is very bad indeed. Maybe we should ask Neil, Pieter and Jeremy to get together to get the content integrated in TolkienLibrary or Tolkien Collector’s Guide (or both).

Well, this seems to be genuine allright. But I think it is rather younger than John Benjamin’s time. Probably Maggie Burns can tell you through which years Henry Riley would have been running the Tolkien piano business.

"This listing has been removed"

Now, does this mean that someone is getting wise to these listings and something is being done about it? I wonder ...

LMAO!

Babelfish seems to have taken the wrong turn at every possible ambiguity, and then some ...

Thanks!

I've seen and especially heard Tom Shippey give the first of those two lectures (both described in both first links) in German at the GTS's Tolkien Thing last July.

I have another question on this. It used to be the case that TS members could get a worthwile discount buying through TST. Anyone know (Wellinghall, maybe?) what the status is on that?
