Alas! - a long list of family problems this year mean that I have used up all my free time, energy, and possible time off work; so I will not be there in June. I shall have to leave it until we go to Oxonmoot for September.

Thank you very much, everyone!

Khamul, a list of all the Silmarillions we no longer want should be in your inbox by now ...

... but I hope forgiven ...

... my wife and I have recently been approved for adoption, and we met our little girl for the first time today

This may mean that I have (a) less money and (b) less time for Tolkien collecting, but that seems a small price to pay

If I might be permitted an off-topic post - I gather from friends and family in Christchurch that there has been a major earthquake in New Zealand. Stu, I know you live some way from the epicentre, but I hope that you and yours are all safe.

Stu, you're right, we aren't talking about the Dead Sea scrolls; this is something *much* more important

"Flog It" on BBC2 today featured a former member of the Lancashire Fusiliers, who was selling a collection of swagger sticks, including several from that regiment. Tolkien wasn't mentioned, but people who can might still like to catch it on iPlayer.

Edit: Trotter it starts at 44:40 and the link is http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/ ... eversions-26-newcastle-20
