Got my deluxe copy signed at Oxonmoot, too. And a standard copy; and a calendar.

And my copy of The Big Issue.

*happy.

Has anyone received this year's Journal of Tolkien Studies? I have been told that my copy has been sent out ...

It's been pretty quiet around here...

Anyone any comments on the quality/format of the H/LR "Collector's Edition" boxset? Anyone noticed, or bought, the Hb "Film Tie-in Edition" (pocket) H?

EP have released a leather-bound 'Fall of Arthur'. Might be of interest to some. I don't personally collect American books, but I do have the EP releases (so I have ordered a copy). Note that international buyers need to ring them up to order (but the person took my order was very polite and helpful, and international postage was only $8 on top of the US price).

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lord-Rings-Bo ... &sr=1-13&keywords=tolkien

Publisher: HarperCollins; 60th Anniversary edition edition (19 Jun 2014)

It seems as if HC will release the LotR boxed set with companion again as a 60th anniversary set.......

Here is the (early link) for the forthcoming Alan Lee illustrated one-volume 60th Anniversary edition as well.

From the description provided:
This new edition is housed in a special transparent slipcase and includes a brand new setting that features the definitive 50th anniversary text, which together with Alan’s beautiful paintings provides the reader with the ultimate edition with which to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the work’s first publication.

"Special Transparent Slipcase". Ugh. Sounds astonishingly like cheap and nasty plastic packaging...

I'm definitely going to start skipping some of these "meaningless milestone" releases, I think (or at least will wait and see, rather than preorder).
