The Hobbit published in Galician, a minority language

This month the Galician publisher Sushi Books has published a deluxe edition of The Hobbit (in Galician, O hobbit). It is a language spoken in the Northwest of Spain by about 2,4 million people. I am so proud of having this work in the language of my father, my grandpa and my foreparents.
Here the pictures. What do you think?

Here is the online shop. You can use paypal. No idea if they ship abroad, but you can try. Take into account it is a short print run of only around 300 books.
If you want any further details feel free to ask

That’s interesting. Thanks for sharing. I know a wee bit of Spanish, so it was fun to see how much I could understand from those images :)

Remember Galician is a latin language, close brother (or sister) to Portuguese, and being in Spain and banned during centuries, with a strong influence from Spanish. Actually, before most latin languages were high culture languages, Galician-Portuguese, or Old Portuguese, or Medieval Galician, take the side you want, had a high culture use, taking the place of latin in western Europe, being the language used for writing, for example, the cantigas (usually poetry, sometimes with music).

Actually, if you watched the (old) film Conan the Barbarian, one of the songs of the OST, by Basil Poledouris, comes from the Cantigas de (of) Santa María. We are able to play them today for they have written not only the lyrics, but also music notations.

Behold the old culture of my people :)

BTW, if they don't sell overseas we can arrange something so I can buy it for you and send it.

Additional information:

the publisher is allowing me to purchase and ship to the USA - the website does not charge for international shipping, so you will have to contact them directly as well to arrange. I have ordered extra copies to combine on shipping, if anyone in the USA wants to reserve one please let me know (soonish in case I need to increase the order size).

Also, Moisés Barcia (the translator of both the 2000 edition and this one) kindly answered my questions:

- As a matter of fact, this was my first translation ever, back in 1999.
-This translation was highly revised. As I said, this was my first translation, and after 18 years I was not fully satisfied with it. I should say it’s almost a new translation (70% or more).
-This is a 300 copies limited edition.
-This edition will be available through all Galician bookshops.
-I have got myself a large collection of Hobbits in different languages. We have chosen among all these editions the format of our edition, looking for something that is beautiful and elegant but at the same time easy to handle, since it is a book that has to spend a lot of time in the hands of its owner.
