Never seen a set of books produced this recently this faded. Must have been keeping them in the greenhouse or something...

And it is really the 4th printing, due to HarperCollins being unable to get their Chinese printers to use anything other than a "I" when they pick up printing duties....

At least with TftPR, the actual first impressions (signed and unsigned) have the multi-coloured foil on the boards to distinguish them.

eBay seller cv00030

This is exactly what I'd expect. Include some obvious garbage and hint that it might not be garbage.

The actual first impressions also have a different ISBN correct? I know that the first impressions signed by Alan Lee do - I’m not sure about unsigned first impressions.

I don't think so. I think only the Alan Lee one had a different ISBN (both are printed in the first edition, as the books are identical, bar the signature -- not sure about all the later impressions, although that 4th bears just the standard unsigned ISBN [the same as one of those printed in the 1st]). The only thing actually denoting signed from unsigned was the slip of paper that came with it (so important to retain!)
