Filmmaker Aaron Burns, founder of Burns & Co., announced today that his studio has optioned the film rights to The Mythmakers by John Hendrix. The indie studio will create an animated feature based on the graphic novel — a biography of literary giants C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien, and their long-standing friendship.
Hi Olwe. I've read it when it was published, and I found it quite appealing. The author has done a good research, with a rather important bibliography. The history is entertaining enough, and I didn't remember having found errors. I liked the graphismes that are original. In fact, I liked it enough to consider interesting a French translation, if a publisher would be interested.
The video of the author kind of confirms my assumptions of the background to this - more or less all-Lewisian and a bit too much of Carpenter's views Tolkien research has been putting into context for many years now...
