In terms of image reproduction, the first (only?) print of the second edition is slightly more saturated than the original 1979. I think the most significant change would be the correction of the Hill sketch (1979 has the wrong image). I don't recall the details of the various text changes, but I recall that are definitely some errors (not just typos) in the first edition. I prefer the images in the 1979, but there isn't much in it. Both are much better than the recent smaller-format reprint.
