A great post from Beren on his website

I think that there is only one copy of the third letter down it has just been sold on eBay multiple times, it is the same letter that Bloomsbury Auctions were going to auction in 2008.

At least this one isn't from our usual friend. I don't think I've ever run across a cd or a bar coded copy of a book or whatever double signed.....can't imagine why

pretty pitiful, thought everyone might need a good laugh!!

The thing that gave it away for me was that Tolkien had not signed the map and the postcards as well, schoolboy error.
I know that Tolkien owned a Morris car in his early life, but we have conclusive proof that he also owned one of these (to get to the year 2000 for book signings).

this double-signed Hobbit boxed set is up again. Not $18,000 though; and the blurb is just as ridiculous -
http://cgi.ebay.com/Rare-2-Signed-J-R ... tible&hash=item41562c7d7a
He writes:
"Rare Double-Autographed by J.R.R. Tolkien on the album cover (mysterious imitation, hand-signed by ?, close-enough though) & front page (presigned & printed?) of this book, to owner of Talking Illustrations, Terry Sillman, a top Comic Art Shop in BC. Hand-signed!."
So, it's signed, apparently. And it must have been signed by somebody!!
