From correspondence with David Brawn at HarperCollins, I also have details of Tolkien eBooks for the next year.

I am pleased to say that the eBooks will be published this year, with the two volumes of The Book of Lost Tales published in the next couple of weeks, to be followed at two-monthly intervals by the three Early Silmarillion volumes, then the four Lord of the Rings volumes, and finally the two Later Silmarillion and the Peoples of Middle-earth volumes in September. The complementary work, The History of The Hobbit, will follow as an ebook in October. Carpenter’s A Biography, together with John Garth’s Tolkien and the Great War, will be published as eBooks at the end of April, to coincide with new paperback editions of both works. We are planning to publish eBooks of Letters and the Hammond and Scull books early next year.

So I picked up the new paperback edition of Beren and Luthien in Waterstones today, but all they had were 4th impressions. Not sure where the first three went.

Interestingly, for this release HC have reverted to the template last used for Sigurd and Gudrun - with the miniature version of the cover on the spine.

Pictures of the Deluxe Facsimile Hobbit, I am probably going to cancel my order today as I was only interested in the CD and this just appears to be Tolkien reading Riddles in the Dark, so does not appear to have any new audio.

How do you know the contents of the CD (I can't find anything myself) ? Thanks in advance for your answer

From the second picture, the CD cover says J.R.R. Tolkien reads an excerpt from The Hobbit, and on the inside from what you can see it mentions the author's reading of the riddle scene from The Hobbit.

Oh right, I haven't seen the title was at singular (and the text inside is too small for me to read it). It's a shame if the reading isn't an exclusive. I thought that HarperCollins had some unpublished excerpts from this lecture...

Blimey, that box is rubbish. Hopefully a pre-release mockup, but I expect the design - which is dismal - is final.

I have canceled my order if anyone on the site does decide to buy, could you post some pictures of the box, as I agree with Stu that it does not look good from these pictures and confirm what is on the CD?

Asked HarperCollins about this,

The photo is of dummy materials made for early sell-in to stores and does not reflect the quality of any of the final materials or the 3D cover on the box. The CD sleeve is from the old 2001 Hobbit Gift Pack – the new one is different, and does include more than the one extract.

I have re-ordered

Hopefully will have in the next few days, more to share about what is in this box set and the included CD, and it will hopefully include "previously unpublished content!", fingers crossed.
