Probably the only difficult US HoME title - the first book, with pages printed in Great Britain. Not affiliated with the seller, just don't see these turn up on the market very often (seems like many went straight to libraries).

This looks to be a still sealed "Silmarillion", limited to 500 copies, signed by the Editor and Illustrator.

Don't worry, I'd have seen it, anyway :)

Need a cheaper copy, as the first one cost me 500 quid or somesuch.

I think the number you were trying to recall was £595...

Stu: The GBP 595 copy was me, and was a "what the hell" purchase as it was my 40th birthday

1 - I paid the same amount as you 4 weeks after you brought yours ?!?!?
2 - My selling exp tells me you could sell for that sort of figure today if you wished so not lost any money

Jeepers! I paid thr RRP for this book when it first came out. And the Hobbit, too. Oughta have bought half a dozen. Hindsight is 20/20, ain't it?
