Picked up a decent clean UK Two Towers 1st/2nd from a charity shop, sadly no DJ
I'm assuming as it says 1955 on the title page it is the true 2nd?
Any features or typos to look out for with this impression? (is this the one that wasn't proof checked?)

Yes, that is the 2nd Impression, the 3rd Impression does not have the 1955 on the title page.

Not sure of any obvious typos in this impression compared with the 1st impression, it was not completely reset like the 2nd Impression of The Fellowship of the Ring.

Thanks Trotter

Forget to say it also has a little blue 'Bowes & Bowes of Trinity Street, Cambridge' bookseller sticker on front board which is cute

I like seeing bookseller stickers in books, fascinating to know who originally sold it.

Another photo of the 7,5,3 I picked up last month. But this time in more natural lighting. The almost perfect gray color tone on the spine reminds me of some of the facsimile jackets you see made today, except those are more incorrectly white I think. I’m so happy I picked this set up.

Added a Pauline Baynes signed UK 1st printing of The Adventures of Tom Bombadil to my collection. Looks great next to my UK 1st printing of Farmer Giles of Ham.
