I had seen that, but was trying to get some information on how payment works, as their website is very confusing. They state they don't accept credit cards (but give credit card payment info elsewhere on the site), and have a weird term for payment by cheque (does "unprovided for" mean the check fails to clear? or that they don't accept cheques at all?) and other strangeness that makes it sound like "cash in hand only" is about it - so if you cannot attend in person, you cannot bid???

Anyone able to help?

Looks like you can pay via Credit Card if bidding thru the-saleroom.com

"Lots purchased online with the-saleroom.com will attract an additional charge for this service in the sum of 4.95% of the hammer price plus VAT at the rate imposed."

"2. Confirm that you are authorised to provide these credit card details to Stacey's Auctioneers" means that the-saleroom will not charge the card, Stacey's will - but Stacey's is no longer accepting credit cards.

My undestanding is that the the-saleroom.com takes payment and is responsible for remitting payment to the auctioneer. So the auctioneer has no payment risk. the-saleroom.com provides credit card details (shipping address) to auctioneer.
