Wrong time of my life for this but I will happily take the exhibition catalog. If it is anything like Tolkien: Maker of Middle-earth then it will be more valuable than the exhibition itself

The BnF catalogue was also very good, hopefully this one will be of a similar quality and content.

Ageed Trotter. It was a very decent period of releases with Maker/Treasures and then the French catalog coming along with such decent quality images. I hope we see some of the mentioned unublished manuscripts finding their way to print.

I guess it'll be a road trip up to Wisconsin next year!

It is available via Amazon UK at the moment Earl

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tolkien-Voyag ... collsguid-21&linkCode=osi

And Amazon Australia

https://www.amazon.com.au/Tolkien-Voya ... bnf&qid=1629467812&sr=8-9

What price would out cheaper for you I don't know, but its no longer cheap that's for sure. Well worth it though.

Thanks onthetrail. And indeed it’s in French. How silly of me to not realise this. ?

I’m assuming no English version of this exists?

Nope no French, it is filled however with wonderfully detailed images and in some cases better than the Maker book, not from a professionalism pov but the finish on matte paper is welcome. It offers a different tale on the colours imo and some sharper finish. I think for 99% of people the Maker is more than adequate, the BnF is cream on top I'd put it.

This is the original TCG thread on the book. It has also been translated in Spanish.

Thanks onthetrail and Trotter.

I don’t know how I missed that. But 2020 was a depressing year for me in general so I missed a lot of things.

I’ll see if I can get the black book and the white “photo book” in one of the pics.

Should be fairly simple to use Google translate and understand some of the larger paragraphs - many of the descriptions are obvious.

You probably will have difficulties to find the white one, the Album, it was published with fewer copies and is now out of sold. Plus it add nothing to the catalogue.

I was going to say something similar to Druss - the white book was sold only in the BnF gift shop, and was a small run (now long out of print). It does not have anything new that does not appear in the large black volume as well. In a sense it is quite similar to Treasures vs. Maker of Middle-earth.
