I loved the misspelling of Tolkien, but Sauron (which I am not sure Hickman was actually rendering, I think that may just be the eBay auctioner's idea) looks a bit mousy rather than menacing.
Anyone able to read the inscription above his head?

Actually I do have the sketches for this work and it is written in the back of the paper... 'Morgoth'... so I always thought Hickmann was trying to draw Morgoth. But then he does not have a crown with three silmarils and why is he holding a palantiri...
But i like the moustache!

It is almost inconcievable, but apparently not imposible, that he could mispell Tilkeon (hee hee!)
It is assuredly Sauron. The Palantir (from Minas Ithil) aside, he has only four fingers on his left hand. But how evil could he be if he has cat's whiskers! Nice kitty!
I will leave the deciphering of the text above his head to my betters.

Entered a new calendar on my website this morning. It is the 2007 Henning Janssen Fantasy Birthday calendar. Although issued this year, it is not dated for calendar year 2007 but intended for capturing birthdays (and anniversaries, etc) annually. You may view the illustrations on his website.
Hope you like it!

Then I envy you for that friendship. Although I have only had the pleasure of conversing with him via email, it has been most enjoyable. He is a very talented gentleman and I wish him continued success (especially as we MUST have more calendars! Sorry, a madness took me, but it has passed!)
