Thanks for posting the link wellinghall.

Just as an added bit of information to the Elaine Griffiths mention:- Prior to the Bonhams Auction, a number of books from the estate of Elaine Griffiths were sold via ABE.

The only Tolkien related one that I saw was a copy of a 1992 Tolkien Family Album which was inscribed by Priscilla Tolkien 'In Loving Memory of Sixty Years of Friendship with the Tolkien Family'.

By the way... did anyone notice this book come up for sale?

This one is even better then the book signed for Elaine Griffiths! It is a 1st impression hobbit signed for a very close relative of Tolkien; and now available for the encredible amount of US$ 122927. I know this copy and would love to add it to my collection for sure, but wonder if there actually exist someone who can afford to buy it. I can't in a thousand year.

Just a small correction to my previous post:

The actual inscription reads:

"For Elaine in celebration of over sixty years' friendship with the Tolkien family. With my love and so many grateful memories of your kindness" and is dated August 1992.

That's what you get when you rely on memory.

The bookshop selling the books was 'The Bookshop at Beech Cottage'. I just checked ABE and they still have a few books left previously owned by Elaine Griffiths. But none that are Tolkien related.
