Had an inquiry concerning what might have become of the original artwork for the Ace Edition of the Lord of the Rings. He asks 'wonder whatever had happened to the Jack Gaughan illustrations on the covers of that edition' Were there every any posters or reproductions made?
Any help would be appreciated dunedain

Sorry, no - I've never heard that Ace made any prints or posters of the Gaughan book covers. It's an intriguing thought - if any were made, they could only have been on sale for a few months, I guess.
But no - I reckon if there ever were any, then copies would have turned up in the maket long before now. I'd be willing to bet there aren't any.
