Hello All,

To cut a long story short, I have received two copies of The silmarillion 30th anniversary deluxe edition by HC (half bound blue on grey boards). Each of the copies has a slight outward ridge running down the centre of the spine.

I rang up HC to see if this was a batch error or a (somewhat odd) feature of the binding process and the kind lady on the phone said the picture on her computer showed the ridge.

So my question is this, if you own the edition, does your copy have this very slight outward ridge down the very centre of the spine.

Let's have a look - yup, mine has. Hadn't noticed it before. I shouldn't let it worry you; it's not that bad.

Worry me!? I have to admit, I don't see a great deal in the copy I have. If there is any ridge it is very, very, very slightly visble. Just the merest hint of... something. It would not be visible in a photograph if I were to take one though. Not that it matters a jot, but you could, Ballboy, post a photograph here...
