Hope nobody is bidding on this here, & I've gone & ruined it for them by bringing it to the forum's attention, but... Michael & Prisca Tolkien GIFT inscription SIGNED BELLOC "MIKEY FROM PRISCA" 1944 Lord of the Rings, Hobbit ...interested in what this finally goes for. I've probably mentioned this before (  ), but I got offered loads of these books a few years back, some of which were presents from CT & Priscilla to Michael. No idea why I didn't buy those ones, judging by this auction. Still, I'm happy with Michael's little 1979 paperback copies of The Silmarillion that I did (have the sense) to purchase...BH

Certainly a decent price at the moment, but buyers should be aware that-
1. FOTR and ROTK are both ex library with stamps inside and out. 2. FOTR and ROTK do not have the correct jackets. (9th and 8th imp. jackets). To be fair the vendor makes this clear, but I see a lot of these kinds of listings going for much higher prices than (I consider) the true market value.

Here's a seller who isn't so clear in their (written) description...
J. R. R. TOLKIEN's THE HOBBIT/RARE 1st Edit.-7th IMPRESSION/ORIGINAL DUST JACKET AUTHOR of THE LORD OF THE RINGS TRILOGY F/NF? This is a very nice copy, but any jacket with a piece physically detached & cellotaped together is neither "fine" or anywhere "near" fine! Just as well they provided so many images, to show condition. Vendio Images BH
