About this event

A very special tour of the Bodleian Library, for one night only.

Experience the Bodleian like never before, with an exclusive evening of treasures, talks and champagne.

Starting in the Weston Library, our expert curators will show you some of our rarest, and rarely seen, treasures from the Bodleian Library. This is a unique opportunity to see some of the world’s most famous books and manuscripts.

You will then be escorted across to the Old Bodleian, where one of our most knowledgeable and experienced guides will share stories of the University of Oxford’s oldest purpose-built teaching room: the stunning 15th-century Divinity School.

Moving upstairs, the highlight of the evening will be an exclusive, thirty-minute, personal tour of the medieval Duke Humfrey’s Library with Richard Ovenden OBE, Bodley's Librarian.

The evening concludes with champagne and canapes in the room where the Oxford Parliament was held during the English Civil War.

Tour duration is at least two hours. All proceeds from the evening will help fund the conservation, collection and care of the Bodleian Libraries' archive of over 13 million printed items and outstanding special collections.
