This book is definitely beautiful in its own way, but that PRICE though...
$1000 USD is absolutely bonkers. Like I'd be ok with $500, but wowzers.

The Folio Society has done very well the last few years with the pandemic collector craze and BookTok. However, it seems like sales have started to ebb the last few months given the economic headwinds.

I agree. It's the first time in years that most of their limited editions (with the exception of LOTR) remain available for so long - and they are not sold out...
I did buy the BEOWULF Ltd Edition - it is really amazing!
This is what I would have loved FS to have done with LOTR too - Full leather / unique design with either a lot more Alan Lee new drawings or maybe a different Illustrator dedicated to this edition..
