Today I received a Dutch Linguaphone Course English. On two records it says that 'Prof. J.R.R. Tolkien' speaks on it. Also in the booklets Tolkien's name is mentioned as a participant. My question is: how much would this course be worth? If it is worth enough, I could insure it... I am not going to sell it, perhaps if I find another one and then I'll mention it here again. Hoping you can help me Onónion

Beren has some of these for sale along with more information about them on his website at the tolkienlibrary.com about half-way down the page.
TolkienLibrary Both copies on the site lack the booklets which your set seems to have judging by the photographs. As an aside as these must be out of copyright by now, have any digital recordings ever been made of Tolkien from the 78 LPs?

Well, I'd say they would be worth somewhat more with the booklets. On the other hand, Beren says his prices are indications for good reasons. Among others, he is dependent upon what the sellers want to ask, and the affair of the 'postcard behind the chimney in Branksome, Poole' has shown that they can ask rather more than he thinks sensible.
Nevertheless, probably a good idea to insure.

As an aside as these must be out of copyright by now, have any digital recordings ever been made of Tolkien from the 78 LPs? Not that I have found or know of, but I'm not a very long time 'into Tolkien'
