Always the same... private auctions, no response from seller and no chance to look at previous auctions.

Unfortunately, it would appear to be another fake. Here is an auction from the same seller for a Signed Harry Potter Book (with Letter).
http://cgi.ebay.com/Harry-Potter-Gobl ... ZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem From a Feedback Comment back in March, it would seem that the Seller sold another Signed Harry Book, and again with a letter. Personally, I am a bit skeptical that for both The Hobbit and The Goblet of Fire. the signature pages are both a significantly different color than the facing page. Could possibly be a quirk of the lighting, but along with the lack of provenance, and a private auctions, my alarm bells are set ringing.

i see what you mean about the difference in colour of the signature pages on both these books. it does look kind of dodgy, and combined with the lack of provenance and private auctioning as you mentioned , it all seems too risky to bid on.
thanks for your advice, i think i might pass on this one!
