I've started reading Douglas Anderson's collection Tales Before Narnia - fantasy stories and poems that might have inspired CS Lewis. It includes Tolkien's poem The Dragon's Visit - but interestingly, not the version in Winter's Tales and The Young Magicians. I guess that this is the original version, which appeared in The Oxford Magazine in the 1930s.
