  • "We publish a quarterly journal, Minas Tirith Evening-Star, to provide a meeting ground for the exchange of ideas and joy generated by Tolkien's monumental works. Our journal includes the best in articles, poetry, fiction and a selection of reviews, games and features." (From The American Tolkien Society website)

"Minas Tirith Evening-Star has had various incarnations since it was first published in 1967. Journal of the American Tolkien Society since 1975, it has provided a forum for fan fiction and poetry, book reviews, serious articles and lots of esoteric news; it is usually scant on artwork. The journal reflects the personality of one of its founders, Phil Helms, who often will produce very philosophical responses to letters of comment. It is strictly devoted to Tolkien." (Sumner Hunnewell)
