So, I am not a Mithril Miniatures collector, but I watch occasionally on eBay, mostly for some basic understanding when I get around to that part of the Collector's Guide. For the most part, they seem reasonable (a few pounds each), and interesting tiny little figurines (for role playing games, but when painted professionally qualify as art I think.)

Then, this auction:

Aragorn 1988 Christmas figurine

£1,070.00 (over $2000) for a 54mm lead figure, unpainted.

Anyone have a link to a Mithril Miniatures fan website/guide? Anyone around here collect these? I'd love to know what's out there, etc. Clearly I am in the dark a bit on this particular market.

Jeremy

Hello everybody... Not that I would like to do necroposting but I saw your thread and if Rowns is still interested in the "collector corner" related to Mithril, there is a website / database / gallery / mailboard talking about all aspects of Mithril...

It is unofficial but it retraces Mithril history back in 1988 and all figurines from this time are not available nor discussed at all at Mithril.ie

The url is : http://mithril.faerylands.net

The database is currently under work I am refilling all the info reguarding it, but the forum along with the gallery can provide a lot of interesting collector info (and the database has the average price for all rare figurines , some can reach 500€ and as you said, one reached $2000.

Feel free to visit, and ask questions about it if interested.

Regards,

Gildor
