Hi everyone,
I am keen to pick up a copy of the 1973(?) Hobbit that is green faux leather and comes in a slipcase. I believe the edition was released for a number of further years, and an example can be seen here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/The-Hobbit-J-R- ... kid%3D5129654105491838947 My question is: was the same book ever released without the box? So, for example, is this the same item: http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/book/9780395177112/The-Hobbit The picture of the book seems to be the right one, and the book depository told me they would refund if the book wasn't the one in the pic, but it also seems a mighty low price for a slipcased edition. Any ideas anyone? Thanks

That edition was never released without a Slipcase.
The one at the Book Depository includes the slipcase.
