The book set now at £750 with 4 days remaining, making me ultra happy about my £600 price tag which I paid for a sealed set.

Hi Bruffyboy
Trust u are still happy. This set went unsold for £599.96 - guess someone withdrew their bid! thats ebay for you. The all in one book didnt sell either and is readvertised. Still thing £800 is too much.

It amazes me that some people relist things for the same price week after week after week. Ok this has only been listed once before, but I've seen some stuff doing the rounds on eBay for months now.
I don't know what the fees are for somewhere like abe books where maybe you could just shove it on and hope somebody will eventually come along and pay xx price, but surely eBay fees will start to mount up...

Agree boneschops. You would think after 1-2 or maybe even 3 -4 weeks they would realise price just too high to sell. This being said i guess at 50p -£1 a go it is worth it on on items worth £100s - certainly a lot cheaper than auction houses at 15-20%. This is I suspect the factor which drives people in direction of ebay.

With regards to the one vol edition, I liked the book and would probably have bid but for the fact that it was a personal dedication rather than a flat sign which ruined it for me. Don't think I would ever have felt that the book belonged to me looking at the personal inscription.
The 3 Vol edition is (most of the time) my favourite edition of the lord of the rings.
