Cost per set of the 36 other sets--£10.84
Seems like a scam, though he probably just added an extra 8. £88 is much more reasonable for that set. :)

Looks like a £2-5 guild edition book in a photocopied 1937 dust jacket and then marketed as some sort of 'celebratory edition'.

Looks like a pro-seller trying to rip off a newbie collector to me.

"Great if you only want to slap the jacket on a first edition. This one is identified as the 19th printing, though it lacks a date. We'd estimate 1940s. A British first edition could cost you as much as $50,000. It had the same jacket as this one."
Oh dear! Does this mean my "$50,000" GA&U Hobbit might have a 19th printing HM jacket on it? http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-1940S-TH ... 58933b6128#ht_4059wt_1402
