Hi Deagol,

you are correct. I have found that my (many) ABE wants are gone if they are listed overnight (which is daytime for the UK) and I have a good shot at nabbing them if I get them mid-day (overnight for the UK). I wonder if there is a pattern here.....

1922 (the year before) of The Microcosm raised £250 at 10/- per annual subscription (so ~500 subscribers) according to the summer 1923 issue. So I would guess there were more than 500 issues of Spring 1923 printed. The later issues I now have do not indicate how much was raised in 1923 so I don't have a better number to work from.

Recently I have had a pretty good run and my two latest purchases are a linguaphone set for £15 pounds and the Book of Fairy Poetry by Dora Owen for $10.63.

The postage to ship the linguaphone set to Australia boasted the price a fair bit, but it was still worth the price.

i have just bought a new house and like Stu (with his fine car), I keep telling my girlfriend that i am not buying any more books for a while and I am going to contcentrate on cataloging my collection....it never seems to work out that way and you realise how much of an addiction collecting can be.

Well done
The Dora Owen book is very nice and one of my favourites. Pictures are very detailed. (note one on ebay at moment for £180+). The tricky part is - Has it got the jacket? If it has fantastic. Spent ages trying to get mine for a sensible price.

I had a linguaphone set but sold it as felt unlike books /pictures i couldnt look ,pick it up and it was just sat in plain black box. If i had an old player i may have played them but would have feared scratching them.

Well done again

no dust jacket unfortunately. Still you can't have everything.
