(did you mean Carpenter's Letter #101?)

TCG Letter #101 / Carpenter Letter #67

From
J.R.R. Tolkien
To
Christopher Tolkien
Date
11 May 1944
Type
Unknown
Transcript
Partial
Tolkien reported to Christopher about various every day affairs, including meetings with C.S. Lewis, Charles Williams and R.B. McCallum. He had found some time to work on The Lord of the Rings, and had come near the end of Book IV. He wished Christopher was with him to perform the useful and pleasant work of completing the maps and typing.

In the 2023 revised edition of Letters, a brief section is restored where Tolkien mentions spending most of Sunday writing except for a trip to Carmel.
