Wiseman writes to Tolkien, saying he fears the T.C.B.S. is drifting apart and does not have the same interests. They are now at Oxford and Cambridge and finding time for each other is becoming harder. Though he also notes that neither of these university institutions can truly destroy the group, especially he and Tolkien.

He closes with mention of his unhappiness of still not knowing anything about Tolkien's fiancée, not even her name.
