Smith remarks on this "notable achievement" and urges Tolkien to contact Colonel Stainforth. He concludes that he will be in Oxford from 16 to 18 June if he wishes to meet him.
Notes
This is in reply to a letter from Tolkien (at this time I have no date for that letter, but it is almost certainly to congratulate Tolkien that both of them had been considered for publication in Oxford Poetry 1915). A poem from each was published. 'Goblin Feet' by Tolkien, and 'Songs on the Downs' from G.B. Smith.
