Hammond/Scull note in Chronology, p. 159 that Tolkien, Onions, and Wyld sign a letter to the Secretary of Faculties on appointing a lecturer to teach English Language. They note that the draft is in Onions' hand but that the typescript appears to be made by Tolkien.
