Date

Type

Transcript
Complete
An internal memo noting that they are considering once again the Lord of the Rings after having turned it down in 1955. Various translations are noted, "the Netherlandish, the Polish and Norwegian" editions had been released and Mr. Unwin had said that GA&U had received over 1000 letters about the sequel to the Fellowship of the Ring when it was published.

It is noted that they have the opportunity to purchase one volume at a time and see how it goes. The memo concludes that the Lord of the Rings has been examined by the childrens sector, which is likely because of his previous work, The Hobbit.
