In regards to Christopher's mentioning of his guardian angelC.S. Lewis showed interest in the subject and Tolkien remarks as such in Carpenter #89a: Letter from J.R.R. Tolkien to Christopher Tolkien • 13 November 1944 (#1400)[1] , Tolkien worried that Christopher's was very much needed. which reminded him of a vision he had had in St. Gregory’sTom Hillman has very kindly been in touch to say that he has spoken with a priest at St. Gregory's, unfortunately to their best knowledge the sermon which Tolkien describes in no longer known to survive. Their records are not availbale online but visitors can search the physical records at the Archdiocesan archives in Birmingham.[2] where a particular beam of light had illuminated a dust mote and sparked a deep moment of enlightenment.

Tolkien spent time out and about with Priscilla, and attended a sermon about the healing of the sick. Tolkien writes at length about his thoughts on eucatastrophe that this sermon triggered.
