Gordon replies to Chapman's letter Letter from R.W. Chapman to George S. Gordon • 26 October 1936 (#1836)[1] saying that he believes that Tolkien has finished his parts on the Clarendon Chaucer, but that they are finished to a degree too large to fit into the volumes size. He will write and ask him what the status is and whether he can revive his efforts to complete the work.
