Stanley Unwin writes again on the Clark Hall Beowulf. He says that Tolkien's preface will require 36 pages and if Tolkien agrees, GA&U will begin typesetting. He offers Tolkien 5 Guineas immediately and another 5 Guineas if there is a reprint. He includes a telegraph form for Tolkien to reply. Tolkien will reply the following day that he agrees to the terms and the use of the preface.
