Mabel Day (of the Early English text Society) sends Tolkien "A[ncrene] R[iwle] instructions". Hammond and Scull remark that they are "either (or both) for use with his edition or for his reference as a member of the Ancrene Riwle sub-committee."^{Chronology, p. 311[1]}
