TCG Letter #2635

Tolkien writes to Mabel Day of the EETS. Tolkien tells her that he has been unwell and as such has not been able to work on the Ancrene Wisse. Although x-rays were clear on the whole, except for 19 teeth which are infected. He has had to take time off work for the "first time" and is resting.

Tolkien says that he is holding things up and if someone was found to take over he would happily hand over the manuscripts. He remarks however that the photostats belong to him and are in use. He closes with a mention that he has spent a lot of time recently with C.T. Onions.
