Success! declares Tolkien. He has completed The Lord of the Rings and having been read by Rayner Unwin is approved. He does not think it will make any money, at 1200 pages. He says that had term not "caught up" with him, that he would have completed the revision. Mistakes, in names and inconsistencies are impossible to avoid in such a lomg work, he observes. When he has a copy to spare he will sen dit along for Brogan to read.
