T.S. Gregory from the Talks Department at the BBC, writes to Tolkien. He would like Tolkien to speak on the Third Programme about the fourteenth-century author Richard Rolle. He asks if he can visit Tolkien in Oxford to discuss it.

*Hammond and Scull note in Chronology that the letter was "sent to Tolkien at 20 Northmoor Road, the letter will be returned to the BBC, sent to Pembroke College on 10 October, and a third time on 19 October to 3 Manor Road (but there is no reply from Tolkien in the BBC files)."
