The editor of The Microcosm, a Leeds magazine, writes to Tolkien acknowledging receipt of his subscription to the magazine. [footnote]We have no record of Tolkien sending his subscription. In The Lays of Beleriand, footnote to p. 94, Christopher Tolkien remarks that his father used the rear of this letter to compose the second version of the beginning of The Children on Húrin.[/foonnote]
